Reverence & Acknowledgment
We recognize that Burn & Bloom exists on the ancestral lands of the Dena’ina people, who have stewarded this land, its waters, and its stories for generations. We hold deep gratitude for their continued presence, wisdom, and relationship with this place.
We also honor the roots of yoga as an ancient practice born in India—carried forward through generations of teachers, seekers, and healers. As two white women teaching within a Western context, we acknowledge the ongoing work of distinguishing cultural appreciation from appropriation. Our intention is to teach with reverence, integrity, and humility—honoring tradition while also recognizing that yoga continues to evolve as a living practice.
At Burn & Bloom, we seek to weave the ancient and the modern—respecting yoga’s sacred lineage while making space for the diverse, embodied experiences of students today. We believe this is how tradition stays alive: through awareness, gratitude, and the willingness to grow together.
