where fire meets flower.
Burn + Bloom is a body movement studio rooted in strength, softness, ritual, and self-connection, offering a variety of somatic classes.
This is not your average yoga studio.
BURN+BLOOM is for those who crave movement that’s wild, liberating, emotional, and real. Those who want to feel their power and their softness. Who are ready to come home to themselves, in their bodies, on their terms.
Here, we move to remember.
To breathe deeper, stretch wider, shake harder, and reclaim what we’ve been taught to silence.
We sweat. We cry. We celebrate. We rest.
We burn what no longer serves us + bloom into who we really are.
Every class is rooted in embodiment, somatic movement, and elemental energy, a blend of yoga, HIIT, breath work, meditation, and deep listening to the wisdom of your own body. It’s sweaty, soulful, and sometimes strange. It’s for every body, every season, every story.
BURN+BLOOM isn’t just a studio-it’s a movement.
I’m AlisaMarie Selvaggio-founder, owner, creator, teacher, space-holder, rebel, and your biggest hype woman.
I built BURN+BLOOM in 2018 with one mission: to create the space I needed but couldn’t find.
I’m a certified yoga teacher, somatic movement guide, breath coach, doula, and bodyworker with a deep love for messy healing, honest expression, and the wild feminine. I’ve spent over a decade supporting transformation: on the mat, in the birth room, and in the quiet in-between moments where we truly meet ourselves.
My work is not about perfection or performance. It’s about presence.
It’s about feeling your body-your real, beautiful, powerful, aching, evolving body AND trusting it.
I believe in the power of sweat, stillness, sensation, and sisterhood.
I believe movement is medicine, your breath is a portal, and you don’t need to fix yourself-
you just need to remember who the hell you are.
I am all about living in, moving with
+ celebrating the duality.

As a lifelong Alaskan, I’ve always felt deeply rooted in nature, creativity, and connection. I’ve spent over 20 years as a musician and private music instructor, performing in bands and small ensembles, and finding inspiration in the wild places that surround me. Music has always been a throughline in my life—something I’ve explored, shared, and grown with.
My journey into sound healing began with a sound bath that profoundly shifted my perspective. What started as a personal experience soon became something I felt called to share—first with friends, and eventually with the wider community. Today, I offer sound baths as part of our studio’s mission to support whole-body wellness and mindful movement.
I live this life in partnership with my wife of over 20 years—her support and shared curiosity have shaped and deepened my path. It’s a gift to now hold space for others, to listen to their stories, and to witness how sound can quietly and powerfully transform.

Born and raised in Alaska, I first discovered Pilates in my early 20s after a back injury. At the advice of my chiropractor, I gave it a try—and instantly felt a difference in my body. That spark led me down a path of deep training in structural integration and posture-based movement. After getting certified, I spent seven years teaching both mat and reformer Pilates, sharing the transformative power of the method with others.
Though my career eventually pulled me in a different direction, my love for Pilates never left. I continued to integrate its principles into everything I do—from sup, hiking and cycling to yoga and daily movement. Pilates, to me, is the ultimate performance enhancer. It builds the foundation for strong, fluid, and confident movement in every part of life.
Now, I’m thrilled to be back in the studio, teaching this Foundations Pilates class. This class will be slow, focused, and intentional—designed to connect breath to movement and help you build deep body awareness. Whether you’re brand new or looking to refine your practice, you’ll leave feeling more aligned, more connected, and more you.

I’m a yoga teacher, massage therapist, and lifelong guide—both on and off the mat. Teaching has always been at the heart of my work, whether I’m leading yoga, guiding in wild places, or helping someone feel more at home in their body. I’m especially passionate about teaching beginners and those who think they “can’t do yoga.” My classes are designed to be welcoming, accessible, and grounded in the belief that yoga is for every body.
My yoga journey began as a personal practice and deepened through training in Rishikesh, India, in the foothills of the Himalayas. Since then, I’ve taught in studios, community spaces, and remote places around the world. I bring a strong emphasis on breath, foundational alignment, and self-trust—offering clear guidance while encouraging students to listen to their own bodies.
In my classes, you can expect a supportive environment where questions are welcome, modifications are normalized, and progress is measured by awareness rather than achievement. I love helping students build confidence from the ground up and discover that yoga doesn’t have to be intimidating to be powerful. I’m grateful to share this practice at Burn & Bloom and to support students wherever they’re starting from.
