burn + bloom retreat

march 1-7, 2027 | Lake Atitlán, Guatemala

7 days of Movement, Ritual & Connection

Some places just do something to you. Lake Atitlán is one of them.

This is more than a retreat.

It's intentional travel. Adventure. Community. A week at our favorite spots on the lake, exploring the five elements through daily movement, sacred ritual, and real connection.

Explore. Rest. Reconnect.

You can expect a rhythm of…

01 /  Grounded, energizing daily movement

02 /  Spacious time for rest and integration

03 /  Cultural immersion and guided exploration

the location: lake AtitlÁn

Lake Atitlán is one of the most stunning lakes in the world… and one of the most layered. Twelve Mayan villages ring its shores, each with its own dialect, textile tradition, and relationship to the land. The Tz'utujil and Kaqchikel people have held this place for centuries. You feel it the moment you arrive.

the retreat center: casa Floresta

Private. Lakeside. Ours for the week. Casa Floresta sits right on the water with an open-air shala, swimming dock, sauna, fire pit, and volcano views that don't quit. No shared resort, no strangers … just our group and this place. San Marcos La Laguna is walkable. Every other village on the lake is a boat ride away.

Meet Your Hosts

AlisaMarie first came to this lake at 18. Kylie has been returning since 2017. Between them, they've spent years here.. teaching, traveling, leading, and coming back simply because this place keeps pulling them in.

AlisaMarie is the founder of burn + bloom in Anchorage - E-RYT 500, somatic movement guide, breath coach, and doula.

Kylie is a musician, E-RYT 500, and has facilitated over a dozen group trips to Lake Atitlán.

They recently co-created a b+b 200 HR Yoga Teacher Training … and this retreat is right smack dab in the middle of the 2027 training as an invitation to escape winter and experience retreat together.

Together they lead with honesty, hold space without hand-holding, and know how to make a week feel both wild and safe. Their intention is to share not just the beauty of the lake, but the richness of Guatemalan culture and what it actually feels like to travel with purpose.

FAQ

  • You'll fly into Guatemala City, then make your way to Lake Atitlán — about 4-5 hours by shuttle, followed by a short boat ride to Casa Floresta. We recommend arriving a day or two early if you can .. it's a long travel day and the lake is worth settling into slowly.

We'll share detailed logistics after booking, coordinate trusted shuttles, and provide a group travel doc to help align arrivals. We've traveled this area extensively and are happy to answer any questions that come up!!

  • Absolutely. A lot of people come solo to retreats …and it's honestly one of the best ways to do it. We intentionally build in both: time that's yours alone to rest, reflect, and recharge, and time together that actually creates connection. By the end of the week, the group tends to feel less like strangers and more like people you've known for years.

  • All meals are included during your retreat stay. Fresh, vibrant, and nourishing. Meals are vegetarian, locally sourced, and prepared by a private chef. Dietary needs can be accommodated.

  • Upoon registering, you agree to our retreat policies HERE.

To sum some of that up > Deposits are non-refundable but transferable to future Burn + Bloom offerings. Travel insurance is recommended.
